Made with Xara Although no mortgage exist on the 2-acre lot and the 6,000 square foot building, insurance (fire, liability and Directors) accounts for a third ($10,000 ) of the annual operating budget. Utilities, office/cleaning supplies and maintenance of the 40+ year old building  (painting, electrical and plumbing) account for the remaining expenses. There is no operating budget for staff and is maintained by volunteers. People often confuse the Center with tax-supported public centers run by the Hawaii County. In fact, the community center is a PRIVATE facility, owned by the membership of Ocean View Community Association, Inc. (OVCA). As such, the Board of Directors has a fuduciary responsibilitry to make the best decisions possible to cover the $30,000 annual budget
